Dior Batch Code Checker

Estimate a Dior production month and distinguish it from the use-after-opening instructions on your package. Coverage is limited; results are estimates.

Usually found at the bottom of the packaging

Lookup coverage and limits

Recognized 4-character codes return an estimated month and year. The code does not identify an exact production day, and a repeating year can refer to an earlier decade. Results are not verified by Dior.

Your next steps

Make sense of your Dior result

Use the estimate alongside the instructions on your own product.

  1. Separate fragrance guidance from cosmetics

Identify whether the product is fragrance, makeup or skincare before applying any opening or storage period.

  2. Check the code and possible decade

Keep all four characters. Compare the estimated month with the purchase date because the encoded year may also fit an earlier decade.

  3. Follow the market-specific label

Use the EXP or PAO printed on your item. If the date still conflicts, send Dior the product type, complete code, purchase market and package photos.

Dior date estimates, cosmetics and fragrance labels

Dior Mexico's beauty FAQ explains the open-jar symbol and separately discusses fragrance storage. These market-specific instructions do not establish a universal expiry date for every Dior product.

Decoder coverage: Recognized 4-character codes return an estimated month and year. The code does not identify an exact production day, and a repeating year can refer to an earlier decade. Results are not verified by Dior.

What the official source confirms

  • Dior Mexico describes an open-jar symbol on the back of cosmetic packaging.
  • Its fragrance guidance distinguishes unopened storage from use after opening.
  • The stated fragrance opening period assumes cool storage away from sunlight.

What to check on the package

  1. Identify whether the item is fragrance, makeup or skincare before using shelf-life guidance.
  2. Read the expiry or PAO marking on the product sold in your market.
  3. Keep the package code and purchase information for a Dior support inquiry.

What is a Dior Batch Code?

A Dior batch code is a code used by the manufacturer to identify a production batch. It may help identify a production period when the manufacturer's coding rule is known, but the code is not automatically an expiration date.

The Dior batch code is different from the product's barcode. Barcodes are used for checkout and inventory management. Neither a barcode nor a plausible-looking batch code proves authenticity.

Where to Find Dior Batch Codes?

Bottom of bottle

Look for a printed or embossed lot code on the bottle base or label.

End of tube

Tube products usually have codes at the serrated seal on the tube end.

Outer packaging

Some products have batch codes printed on the bottom or side of the box.

Tip: Batch codes are usually inkjet printed or embossed with a tactile feel. If you can't find the batch code, check if the outer packaging is still available.

How to Check Dior Batch Codes?

  2. Enter the complete marking in the input box above, then choose Check.
  3. Read the estimated date, its precision and the product-specific limitations.

Common questions

Dior Batch Code FAQ

Clear, practical answers for checking Dior production codes and shelf life.

Why can't I find my Dior batch code?

Use the short batch marking on the bottle, container or carton, not the product reference or shade number. A different format may be outside this checker's coverage. Contact Dior in your purchase market if the estimated month or decade does not fit the package history.

Can Dior batch code checker verify authenticity?

A batch code cannot prove that a Dior product is authentic. Codes can be copied, and an unsupported or unreadable code does not by itself show that a product is counterfeit. Ask the brand about an uncertain purchase.

Does Dior fragrance guidance apply to makeup and skincare?

No. The periods cited in Dior Mexico's FAQ are fragrance guidance. Read the expiry and PAO on the specific makeup or skincare package instead of applying the fragrance period to every Dior product.

How should I check Dior shelf life?

Dior Mexico explains that the PAO jar symbol gives months after opening. Its fragrance guidance refers to about 24 months after opening in a cool place away from sunlight, and about 3 years unopened. Do not apply those fragrance periods to all Dior makeup or skincare; follow your specific label.

How to store Dior cosmetics to extend shelf life?

Follow the storage instructions on your specific Dior product. Keep the container closed as directed. Do not assume refrigeration is suitable unless the manufacturer recommends it.
