Le Labo Batch Code Checker
Read the current-label formulation date on the New York label documented for SANTAL 33 in 50 mL and 100 mL bottles. Coverage is limited; results are estimates.
Lookup coverage and limits
Check that your bottle is SANTAL 33, 50 mL or 100 mL, and the label says New York City. These fields do not identify the fragrance or size automatically. The result is the current-label formulation date, with no automatic expiry date.
Your next steps
Make sense of your Le Labo result
Use the estimate alongside the instructions on your own product.
Keep the complete package code
Compare the container and carton. Record the letters, leading zeros and any separate printed date. Keep photos of both markings if they differ.
Read expiry and opening instructions
An EXP or best-before date is different from a LOT code. The open-jar symbol gives months after first opening; it does not reveal when the product was manufactured.
Check the estimate against your records
An estimate does not establish storage history or authenticity. If the date conflicts with your purchase history, keep the package details and ask the brand.

Le Labo formulation label scope
The official label identifies the date of formulation. A refill receives a new date, so the current label cannot recover the original bottle's first manufacture or the age of its raw materials.
What the official source confirms
- Le Labo Japan's SANTAL 33 images show a New York label and an expanded label identifying the date of formulation.
- Le Labo's refill FAQ explains that a refilled bottle receives a new label with the refill date.
What to check on the package
- Compare the fragrance, size and compounding city on your bottle before entering the two date-label fields.
- Check whether the bottle has been refilled. The current label does not identify its first manufacture date.
What is a Le Labo Batch Code?
A Le Labo batch code is a code used by the manufacturer to identify a production batch. It may help identify a production period when the manufacturer's coding rule is known, but the code is not automatically an expiration date.
The Le Labo batch code is different from the product's barcode. Barcodes are used for checkout and inventory management. Neither a barcode nor a plausible-looking batch code proves authenticity.
Where to Find Le Labo Batch Codes?
Bottom of bottle
Look for a printed or embossed lot code on the bottle base or label.
End of tube
Tube products usually have codes at the serrated seal on the tube end.
Outer packaging
Some products have batch codes printed on the bottom or side of the box.
Tip: Batch codes are usually inkjet printed or embossed with a tactile feel. If you can't find the batch code, check if the outer packaging is still available.

Common questions
Le Labo Batch Code FAQ
Clear, practical answers for checking Le Labo production codes and shelf life.
Why can't I find my Le Labo batch code?
Enter the Compounded and On fields together on one line with single spaces, keeping both colons and the date's slashes. This reads a printed formulation label; other cities, hidden lot codes and bare dates are outside this lookup.
Can Le Labo batch code checker verify authenticity?
A batch code cannot prove that a Le Labo product is authentic. Codes can be copied, and an unsupported or unreadable code does not by itself show that a product is counterfeit. Ask the brand about an uncertain purchase.
How should I check Le Labo shelf life?
A formulation date does not establish a shelf life. Refills replace the label with the refill date; follow your package instructions and ask Le Labo about your bottle and its refill history.
How to store Le Labo cosmetics to extend shelf life?
Follow the storage instructions on your specific Le Labo product. Keep the container closed as directed. Do not assume refrigeration is suitable unless the manufacturer recommends it.
